Dr Tom Kovitwanichkanont

Dr Tom Kovitwanichkanont (MBBS (Hons), MPH, FACD) is a specialist dermatologist and a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. He trained in dermatology across Melbourne’s tertiary hospitals. During his training, he was selected to undertake a one-year clinical fellowship at St John’s Institute of Dermatology in London.

Prior to specialising in dermatology, Dr Kovi successfully completed Basic Physician Training with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He also holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Sydney with a focus on health policy and skin disease prevention.

Dr Kovi has a broad range of interests within dermatology, such as skin cancer detection and management, psoriasis, eczema, acne, hyperhidrosis and autoimmune skin diseases.

Dr Kovi consults at Preston Dermatology on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Dr Holly Sexton

Dr Holly Sexton (MBBS (Hons), FACD) is an Australian-trained specialist dermatologist and Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists.

Dr Sexton completed her medical and specialist training at a number of tertiary hospitals including Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide, and in Melbourne, Austin Health, The Royal Melbourne Hospital, Western Health, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and The Royal Children’s Hospital.

Dr Sexton enjoys treating a wide range of skin, hair and nail conditions for both adult and paediatric patients. Dr Sexton strives to provide a holistic and individualised approach to caring for patients with an emphasis on patient education.

Dr Alain Tran

Dr Tran is a fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists.  He has extensive experience working across all of South Australia’s major tertiary hospitals.

He has a strong interest in medical education and was the co-author of the Australasian College of Dermatologists Clinical Modules. He is also a published author in the Australasian Journal of Dermatology and other international peer-reviewed journals.

He has been exclusively selected to undertake a Fellowship in Mohs Micrographic procedures, Cutaneous Oncology at Preston Dermatology and the Skin Health Institute in Melbourne. This program is accredited by both the Australasian College of Dermatologists and the American College of Mohs Surgery.

He has a particular interest in the surgical and non-surgical management of skin cancers. Dr Tran is committed to offering the highest quality of evidence-based care to all of his patients.

Dr Tran consults at Preston Dermatology on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Dr Tim Rutherford

Dr Tim Rutherford (MBBS (Hons), FACD, FACMS) completed his dermatology training in Melbourne and Singapore and completed a fellowship in advanced cutaneous surgery and Mohs micrographic procedures in Perth, Western Australia. He has extensive experience in surgery and management of the skin for both skin cancers and non cancerous cosmetic lesions as well as treatment for other forms of skin damage.

Dr Tim Rutherford is a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology, Australian Medical Association and is active within the Australasian College of Dermatologists. He also teaches dermatology trainees and medical students.

Dr Rutherford consults at Preston Dermatology on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Ms Sofia Jong

Our cosmetic & practice nurse Sofia is a registered nurse, with extensive experience in laser treatments for redness, pigment, scarring and hair removal. She endeavours to provide state-of-the art care to ensure client satisfaction. Sofia works closely with our specialist dermatologists to offer our patients the very best treatments with the Cutera Excel V laser, Candela Fraxpro, microneedling, chemical peels, extractions, and other cosmetic treatments.

Sofia consults at Preston Dermatology and The Cosmetic Clinic by Preston Dermatology on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Ms Lisa Lawson

Our cosmetic & practice nurse Lisa is a registered nurse, with extensive experience in general medical and dermatology nursing. She is trained in laser and other dermatology treatments to help you enhance your skin and tailor treatments to restore your skin with natural-looking results.
